The Global Guidance Framework for the Responsible Use of the Life Sciences raises awareness about the importance of biorisk management and identifies gaps in the governance of biorisk. The framework provides an integrated approach to responsible dual-use risk management. It provides specific tools including checklists, scenarios, and case studies for stakeholders to take the practical steps to implement the framework.

The framework is developed by the World Health Organization, and is designed for policymakers who have governance responsibilities over biorisk, but is useful for all those involved in life science research, including: scientists, research institution staff, educators and trainers, funders, publishers and editors, and more.
